Android 13 QPR2 Beta 3 is now available for Pixel phones, Google has announced. This release comes under the ‘T2B3.230109.002’ version, and it brings a number of bug fixes. On top of that, the performance has been optimized too.

Android 13 QPR2 Beta 3 is now rolling out to Pixel with a bunch of fixes

Google has split the changelog into “Developer-reported and user-reported issues” and “Other resolved issues”. There are quite a few entries included here. We’ll talk about some of them below, while you can check out a full list by clicking here.

Various random bugs have been fixed with this build. Like a bug where notifications in a notification group were sometimes displayed with straight corners. Also, the issue where the overflow menu couldn’t be accessed when editing Quick Settings tiles has also been fixed.

If your phone tended to vibrate for too long on the previous build, after you receive a notification, well, that should be fixed now too. The same goes for crashes for messaging apps, or issues with sending messages.

A GPU issue that prevented apps from using certain visual effects has also been fixed. Google also took care of the Pixel Launcher bug which caused the app to crash when using the Search bar in the app drawer.

The Picture-in-picture (PiP) mode issue has also been fixed

The issue with the Picture-in-picture (PiP) mode has also been sorted. Some people were having a problem when entering and exiting that mode, after changing the screen orientation. It would cause the system Settings app to crash, and then refuse to open.

Misrepresentation of the Bluetooth status has also been fixed, as well as a number of other bugs that you can check out in the link mentioned earlier.

Now, as some of you know, QPR betas are different than developer previews and regular betas. They are usually safe for general use and include “the next round of bug fixes and improvements to stability and performance”. On top of that, they also come with user-facing features that are not usually rolled out to Pixel phones as part of Feature Drops.

We’ll get the stable Android 13 QPR2 in March, as this is the last major beta we’ll get. Do note that this version is compatible with the Pixel 4a, 4a (5G), 5, 5a, 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, and 7 Pro. You can grab it by enrolling your device on the Android Beta for Pixel program, if you’re not already a member. The update arrives over the air (OTA), as your regular update would.
